Phase 2 CHP Improvements

Design-Build

Project Overview

This project involved the installation of a second 375 kW Combined Heat & Power (CHP) Generator for the Kishwaukee Water Reclamation District.

Project Location

Kishwaukee Water Reclamation District, IL

Project Scope

By installing a second 375 kW Combined Heat & Power (CHP) Generator, the Kishwaukee Water Reclamation District was enabled to produce ~130% of its electricity needs via biogas from anaerobic digestion and produce enough thermal energy to heat KWRD’s anaerobic digesters via hot water. The CHP system included a sound enclosure, electrical connections, hot water heat exchanger, and associated hot water distribution system.
