Downers Grove Combined Heat & Power
The goal of the Downers Grove CHP project was to improve the energy efficiency and sustainability of the Downers Grove Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project scope included the removal and replacement of the previous CHP generator while minimally impacting day-to-day wastewater treatment operations. The project resulted in a net-zero energy facility with the ability to export excess electricity back to the utility. In total, the Downers Grove Sanitary District electricity usage was decreased by approximately 3% and furthered its commitment toward a sustainable future.
